Either contemplative & subdued or energetic & upbeat, the worship experience can take on a variety of moods. Houses of Worship (Churches, Synagogues & Mosques) can cater to a multitude of events through the development of illuminance/luminance criteria for these different functions, careful selection & placement of luminaires to achieve these lighting goals, and then the integration of multi-scene control systems to allow a variety of lighting settings. Additionally, the electric lighting in a house of worship should be considered an augmentation to daylight - there is no aspect of the space for which daylight cannot be considered.
